How to earn with your bike in Karachi: a rider's guide
· Drivio
If you own a bike in Karachi, you already own the tool for flexible work. Here is what it takes to start earning as a ride-hailing rider, and the questions to ask any app before you sign up.
Documents you will need
- CNIC, front and back
- Driving licence, front and back
- Police character certificate
- Your bike's registration book
On Drivio, registration takes about ten minutes in the app. An admin then reviews your documents and you get the decision in the app. If something is wrong you are told what, and you can fix and resubmit.
Ask about every deduction, not just commission
Commission is the number apps advertise, but it is rarely the only deduction. On Drivio, the commission is 0% — and GST and a service charge are also deducted. All of them are itemised on the earnings screen after every ride, and the earnings calculator on the rider page shows them before you register.
How you get paid
Earnings go to your Drivio wallet, and you withdraw to JazzCash, EasyPaisa or a bank account. New riders receive a Rs 50 signup bonus once approved.
More than rides
Besides standard rides, Drivio riders can publish scheduled pool trips and sell seats, or offer their vehicle for hourly rental at a rate they propose. Choosing more than one service means more requests in quiet hours.
No shifts, no targets
Go online when you want to work and offline when you do not. There are no minimum hours.
